Left the middle of August to go to Detroit and visit my oldest friend Steve. The annual Cruise on Woodward was happening so we figured we’d go check that out again. From there I rode up to Mackinaw City and camped overnight . The next day I crossed the bridge over to Salt Saint Marie and rode to Sudbury. Spent the night in a hotel there and then rode to Ottawa. I spent two nights in Ottawa because it’s a large city. I don’t think its as nice as Montreal or Quebec City but there’s plenty to do none the less. Then I rode back down to the states and camped a night in Lake Placid. I love all the Olympic history in the town and I think the locals do too. Rode my bike to the top of Whiteface mountain because two gay guys told me there was a magical castle up there. The views were awesome and there was a weather station at the top that did kinda look like a castle. My friend Pam has a camp on Great Lake Sacandaga that’s only a couple of hours from there so I spent the night there and caught up with old friends. I left the next day and rode to the finger lakes region and camped for the night. Got up the next day and made the final push home. 1900 miles in total, great weather the whole time with very little rain.
